here and there
I have an late 2009 mac mini running win xp (and snow leopard.) I have not used it since last year when I got a new mac mini.
Since the new mac mini arrived my usb mouse and keyboard I was using on the old mac mini died. I bought cordless not thinking about the old mac mini.

Please recommend an inexpensive usb mouse and key board that will work with an old mac mini.

Thank you

The cordless should work on the old Mac Mini, you just need to pair it. Reset the PRAM on your older Mac Mini to reset the USB ports.

If your keyboard and mouse are still dead, I have a new Apple keyboard and mouse I can sell you.

Two things...
first your BT keyboard and mouse should work just fine with a 2009 mini,
and second, USB keyboards and mice are very rugged, I'm surprised to hear that both of yours have failed.

Well not a failure exactly. More like crud infestation  and I ditched them. The cordless I have will not work with win xp. When I turned the old one on yesterday it booted up fine to xp; but did not recog the perifs.

You can get really cheap keyboards and a mouse from ebay . You could probably find a usb wired mouse and keyboard for around $10 free shipping . If you want wireless you will probably be looking at $30-100 . Any usb or wireless mouse should work fine I would get them cheap from ebay if it is not your main machine .

Go to a local PC shop and get the cheapest. 20 bucks will do for both.
If you want more retro, use a classified site to get an old IBM or Microsoft tank.
