Hi

I recently scored a 2009 Macbook Pro off Ebay for $89.97 in near new condition hardware wise and cosmetically. I managed to install Sierra 10.12.6 with the DosDude patch and seems to be working fine. Are their any potential problems with this patch I don't know about?

i've a similar one but have chosen Catalina. You probably wanted to stay Journaled HFS and retain 32 Bit Apps?

It is supposed to be quite stable. If it still has a HDD insitu it's begging for an SSD, Ram can go to 8Gig and also speeds (or rather doesn't slow things down). Safari will be old and not supported, but there's plenty up to date Browsers without such issues. Long as the battery is decent and the CD doesn't regurgitate from the drive also, it's quite the bargain really.

Lol, that's not a bad find. TBH, surprised the SuperDrive still works.
First thing I thought off too as mines prob on the 6th/7th now in 13 yrs. It is great at regurgitating CDs/DVDs after a short consternation. To the OP, get into the habit of briefly throwing a CD in once a month as they do gum up.

That or there's the option of replacing it entirely with an adapter for a 2nd HD. Conversely, the prior 2006 G5 iMac preferred mostly to not wanting to return my discs from the SuperDrive..

Yeah, mine died long ago due to the fact I never inserted CDs.
