Can you pop in (2) 4GB modules to give the 2009 Mini up to 8 GB of ram, or is this not possible, turning my 2009 Mini into a Home Server and Media Server thought the extra Ram might be beneficial.

Although it's not officially supported by Apple it is possible to put 8GB of RAM in the 2009 Mac Mini's. I'm not sure if the extra RAM would be beneficial. It all depends exactly what you're going to use it for.

Hi, it's possible. Mac Mini 2009 it is capable of supporting 8 GB of RAM after applying EFI Firmware Update 1.2
I did 2 days ago and the system profile correctly recognizes the 8 GB memory.

I just upgrade to 8GB ram on Mini 2009 last Friday. No problem and runs very well.
