First time poster and a long time lurker. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up on the fabulous new MLBtv plug in inside Plex. I've been using it for a week now and have not experienced a crash yet. It seems to work better through Plex than the MLB website. If you are a MLBtv subscriber and use the "Nextdef" plugin on the MLB's media player, it'll also be used through Plex, giving you hd quality games. Also, the UI is beautifully laid out. I can't say enough about it. A great step towards the elimination of cable.

I've got this channel installed on my Mini. If you pay the MLB $80 yearly subscription are you able to watch live games through Plex?

Yeah, just go to the ap store inside Plex and select/download the MLB app. Then you can select "MLB.TV" and set up your MLB.com account info. Plex will then remember your passwords. You would'nt have to access mlb.com to watch games.

Plex is free, as is the MLB plugin. What costs money is the mlbtv plugin that allows you to see the games live.

The MLB app found at the Plex app store is free. Once selected it will install in your Plex (Watch Your)Videos section. The app has three sections: Highlights, MLBtv, and Preferences. "Highlights" is just that and can be watched through Plex immediatly free of charge. If you are a MLBTV.com subscriber, where you have access of all MLB games live and archived, you can set up your account to be watched through Plex. There are two different MLBTV subscriptions available. Check out www.mlb.com for more info.

Really, I don't work for the MLB.:)

Wow, I wish the NFL would do something like that! Of course, they would charge about 2-3 times as much as they are already getting something like $200-250 from DirecTV customers for Sunday Ticket.

If I got all my NFL content from an app in Plex instead of NFL Network and ESPN, I would dump satellite without thinking twice. Everything I watch (besides NFL and college basketball) is available for purchase or free streaming on the net somewhere (or off of my antenna), and my wife only has a show or two I can't seem to find anywhere (darn TLC & HGTV need to start making full episodes of more of their shows available online).
