Hi All,

I have a 2009 dual cpu 4.1 upgraded to 5.1 that is running Mojave. I have an issue whereby bluetooth isn't working, when I go to bluetooth in system report it says "No bluetooth hardware found"

I have tried the following:

1. Delete “com.apple.Bluetooth.plist” and restart
2. Resetting SMC
2. Resetting NVRAM

None of these have helped, has anyone got any ideas. I cant confirm if bluetooth worked before updating the BootRom and installing Mojave

Make sure the internal Bluetooth chip is connected... it is possible a prior owner disconnected it so as to use an external Bluetooth dongle. (That's what I do with my 2 Mac Pros... I hang the Bluetooth dongles off USB ports on my wired Mac keyboards. Great reception, plus allows the Bluetooth receiver to be close to mouse when computer is located remotely).

There was a nice description of how to do this here: http://ww1.oliverwolfson.com but the link is gone now.

This might help, too: http://www.geekguides.co.uk/414/how-to-select-a-bluetooth-adapter-in-os-x

The Mac Pro came from a very non tech savvy family member so im confident they would have disconnected the bluetooth card. I want to get a wifi and bluetooth upgrade like the one below but worried not won't with the bluetooth not working now

Looks like I was wrong some has actually removed the power cable to the bluetooth card, does anyone know where I can get a replacement ?

I use a BT dongle ( in front USB port ) in Mojave 10.14.6 - I have disconnected the stock Apple BT card. No problems at all.

if you're using a dongle. . not all of them work as advertised.

( Please put your cMP specs in your sig. )

Updated sig just for you, Ideally I would like to get internal bluetooth working with WIFI AC, im looking at this card which looks better value than the OSXWIFI card and is bluetooth 4.2 instead of 4.0

Seeing that I have disconnected my internal BT module I cant help you. I'm more than happy with my BT dongle.
