2010 DVD removal

Now that SSD drives are dropping good for 1T and up, time to think about replacing the DVD drive with a SSD for storage for my movie streamer with my ATV. Do I have to buy some kind of adapter to hook up the SSD to the port for the DVD?

Well, most SSDs fit a 2.5 inch drive bay (or are even smaller), and the DVD drive is a 3.5 inch device. But it isn't too hard to find an adapter. For example, Other World Computing has one:

thanks for the info. Is there a sleek enclosure that the dvd drive I remove can go into? Works fine so need one without the drawer
