I am upgrading the GPU in my 2011 iMac 21.5".

The card I have is an Nvidia Quadro K2000M from a Dell precision M4700.
Trying to figure out if the card is faulty.

I only get 2 diagnostic LED's.

Should this card work out of the box? or does it require flashing first?

Only Apple cards work out of the box.
Yes, it appears so. I saw forum posts suggesting it worked "OOB", but I doubt they were talking about the boot screen.

The iMac did eventually boot, the 3rd diagnostic LED turned on just before the login screen.

Hopefully this helps someone in the same situation as me, wondering if the card is dead or not!

What you described is deemed to be evaluated as "working out of box", it got you to the boot screen without having to do anything else.

In many other cases, the iMac would not boot at all, without flashing an appropriate Vbios first.
