Can someone please tell me how do I go about viewing the frames per second while playing L4D (1 and 2) on my 2010 mac mini? I have searched to no avail. :(

Enable console through the options menu.
Then press the ~ symbol, type in cl_showfps 1

Aaahh... yes, finally. My bad, I wasn't looking in the right place in options for console enabling, but now it works. I am getting 20 something- 30 something fps with video settings on medium, but when I switch everything to low settings, it jumps to 40 something- 50 something fps. Normal? New to this, sorry. And thanks.

Pretty normal, my MacBook has the same specs as the Mac Mini.
I set everything on medium except for effects which are on low.
I get above 30 FPS with that, it'll dip to 25 in pretty rare situations.

As long it looks playable to you then the numbers don't really matter too much.
