I'm about to purchase a 2.4 Mini and had a question about hard drives.

Have there have been any thermal issues w/ a 7200rpm drive in the new chassis? I've been looking for some data comparing the longevity between 7200 and 5400 rpm laptop drives, but haven't found anything. To this point, I've only owned the slower drives.

I've been looking at Samsung's HM640JJ (7200rpm), but would also consider their HM641JI (5400rpm) if heat were a factor. I don't have any experience w/ Samsung drives, so any viewpoints are welcome.

I have had good luck w/ Hitachi and have considered the 7k500, but need more room.

Swapping a drive on the new Mini doesn't look difficult, but isn't something I would want to do on a regular basis. I hope to run a fair number of cad programs under bootcamp on this machine. Any insight which helps me get this right the first time is much appreciated.

SSDs are cool if you are concerned with temps. Some folks with warm minis have used SMC Fan Control to boost fan speed and lower inner temps.
