I did a search on internet on this, but couldn't find anything. Are there already external hard disks or any other peripherals that can be stacked perfectly with the 2010 Mac Mini form factor?

PS. The airport extreme (correction: time capsule) has the same dimensions but doesn't stack very well. Oddly the radius of the corners is not the same and it's all slippery, no matter which one you put on top!

There was another thread around here about that. Aside from the old Iomega MiniMax there's nothing. I wish they'd update that thing for the new model.

I've been keeping an eye out for that kind of peripheral since the new mini was released and as far as I've seen there aren't any yet.

The AirPort Extreme is the same size as the old Mac mini (6.5" x 6.5"). Don't you mean the Time Capsule?

Correct, that's what I mean! Looks totally weird if you stack them.

There's more for the old mini, or at least, used to be: http://www.123macmini.com/accessories/guide/enclosures.html

I'm under the impression that the
SafeCapsule is the same length &
width as the TimeCapsule which is
the same length & width as the new
'10 Mac mini. Right? Am I wrong?

You are absolutely right. However, the radius of the corners if the TimeCapsule and the 2010 mini are different, and trust me: that looks odd!

Stardom Safe Capsule

I thought the old AppleTV, Time Capsule, '10 Mac mini and Safe Capsule
were all the same shape, just different heights. I had purchased a
Safe Capsule to put under the '10 Mac mini when I buy one hopefully
around Christmas. If your correct, thats a BUMMER man!!!

Their'll be no RADIUS matching for you

Just got back from the Apple store comparing the
radius of the '10 Mac mini corners with the corners
of a TimeCapsule and SafeCapsule. Huubster is right
the radii don't match. Man, thats depressing!!!!

needless to say I was very disappointed to discover that 2 minutes after I unwrapped my new mini...
And so far, still no peripherals with the same form factor released. Matter of time...I hope...

two of these side by side are a good looking setup under a mini.

they would be about 9 by 8.7 . they would be really good for function. and would have a tapered effect for form. btw the new will slip due to plastic bottom. a little two side tape from rhino or 3m is the only solution.

I railed against this 2010 model for many posts against on 123macmini. Including that the form was bs due to the complete and total lack of stacking due to the plastic bottom. I still am using my 2009 models for this and a few other reasons .

no cpu boost. and false form.

Its Just Lemonade

Hi Philip, I've already modified my SafeCapsule with two eSATA
ports on the back. I intended on modifying the '10 mini to use
two eSATA's as well. Doesn't seem like much point now. My mod
turned out really well. Doesn't look factory but looks good.

I've already got an OWC Enclosure with two eSATA ports along
with two other regular OWC Enclosures that look the same.
Might as well just use the OWC's and turn the SafeCapsule
back into stock and stack it under my Airport Extreme.

I guess when life hands you lemons, you make lemonade.
Maybe I should write that down.
