Hello,

How's the situation with a GTX 760 - EVGA SuperClocked in my case - out of the box on a 2010 Mac Pro running Yosemite? I read on tonymacs forums that they've had success with their Hackintoshes, so is that the case?

Will it work without needing to install anything additional?

Does Yosemite have native drivers for the 760 in particular?

Is it safe and within the power limits of the Mac Pro PCIexpress lane setup and additional power connectors to use an EVGA SuperClocked 760 without damaging anything?

Lastly, is there any benefit to using the nVidia drivers over the native ones?

i had one for a bit on 10.9.5 and everything ran smoothly and safely..should be the same for yosemite

i heard and read on here that yosemite fails to show pcie 2.0 speed on system profile but that it actually is when you check on programs like cuda z

Ok, now did you have to install any additional drivers? Does Yosemite have native drivers for the GTX 760? Do you know how much of a difference Nvidia's drivers would make vs. the native ones?

Your GTX 760 is based on the Kepler GK104 GPU, same as the GTX 680/670, so you should have no problem using the card under OS X 10.10 with native drivers. The GTX 760 is just a rebadged GTX 670 with the same 170W TDP, well within the 225W limit when using 2 six-pin auxiliary video power plugs.

BTW all your other questions are answered on the first page of the Nvidia FAQ link.
