I have a 2010 Mac Pro with a 2.8 GHz processor and 16 GB RAM. Each of the 4 drive bays have a regular hard drive in it. In the optical bay, I have a 120 GB Mercury 6G flash drive.
I got it because I had been reading so much about how much faster SSD drives are. Imagine my surprise when I don't notice a huge increase in performance from it.
I finally got Blackmagic disk tester and compared the SSD to one of my hard drives. Here is the hard drive:

Why is the SSD so slow? Isn't it supposed to be many times faster than a hard drive?
