I have a 2010 Mac Pro lying around and wanted to us it to just backup my iTunes library and me and my wife’s Photos library. Does Mac server have anything built in to do this?

Poor information in this thread. Yes, the $20 server app will handle this quite gracefully for you. Simply configure it as a Time Machine destination. Then, on the clients, specify which folders to exclude from backups (everything except music and photo libraries).

Done.

But do we actually need the server apps to do that? I think as long as the Mac Pro share the HDD on the intranet, than the other machine can use it as a Time Machine backup drive, isn't it?
