Hello folks,

At home we have a 2010 white unibody macbook. I decided to upgrade it and leave to my mom.
I upgraded its ram to 4gb and put a Sandisk SSD Plus 120gb ssd.
However, when I test the writing/reading speeds with Blackmagic disk speed test, I get about 250 mb/sec reading which is nice for SATA II interface, but the writing speed fluctuates between 40-50 mb/sec probably lower than its original hdd.

I did both nvram and smc resets and enabled TRIM. Btw, I am using MacOS High Sierra.

Blackmagic uses incompressible data in its tests.

A utility like ATTO uses compressible data.

Needless to say the manufacturers will use compressible data rates. Then they will use terms like "up to".

So try testing with ATTO to see if you get a different result.

I see, but ATTO is only available on Windows. Do you have any other suggestions?
