Alright so first things first before everyone starts jumping on me about using the "search" feature, I've done copious and extensive amounts of research and digging on this verify specific topic. I have come up less than short on similar case or any sort of resolution.
Problem: I am trying to run a 32" HP monitor as a second display (1920x1080, 4K display, etc). Two problems stem from this, but first, system specs:
-2011 21.5" iMac
-2.5ghz Intel Core i5
-AMD Radeon HD 6750M 512gb
-8 gb of RAM
-500gb SATA
Now, when I go from the Thunderbolt Port on my iMac, to a MiniDisplayPort to HDMI adapter, to HDMI, to External Monitor, I get some flickering, pixelated lines, etc, then monitor displays no input.
When I go from USB to NewerTech USB 3.0 to DVI/HDMI adapter, using DisplayLink Driver (most recent update), I can usually get the second monitor to display 1920x1080 if I mess with installation, permissions and restarts enough, only to have it all go to ruin if I restart the computer for an update.
According to my research:
1. I've found 2 examples in all the lands of individuals successfully running a 32" monitor
2. According to the specific specs of my machine, Apple states that its capable of running an external at up to 2560x1600 BUT only up to 30" external display
See: https://everymac.com/systems/apple/...inch-aluminum-mid-2011-thunderbolt-specs.html
So, SOMEBODY out there has successfully run a 32" external display WITH a Thunderbolt/MiniDisplayport adapter. My simple question, does anyone have anything at all that may help me in any way? MY GOAL is only to run 1920x1080 thru Thunderbolt to HDMI
