Hi!
I hope long time Mac gurus will be able to assist with my problem, which is as follows:
I have an external 1TB drive connected by USB and running as a backup under Time Machine. Every time my iMac goes into Sleep mode it immediately comes up with a system error message 'The Disk was not properly ejected....'
My USB drive is a powered drive (3.5" external), so it is not only powered from the USB port.
Surely the disk should not be Ejected/unmounted when the iMac goes to Sleep? Why is my disk being Ejected/Unmounted on Sleep/Wakeup? Is anybody aware of any solutions?
I have also tried both options to Sleep or NOT Sleep drives in the Energy Efficiency options in Sys Prefs to no avail.
I currently do the backups manually, which is a pain in the butt - I was getting the iMac (new to the Mac world) specifically for problem-free and automated backups via Time Machine
Any help will be greatly appreciated
(FYI - this is exactly the same problem as per Apple Support forum: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2206160?start=0&tstart=0 ) For which there did not seem to be a solution.
