Hey there so I am sure that someone here has hear about the OWC Cable controversy that recently happened. if not lets get you up to snuff.

A hacker recently discovered that you don't need the OWC Cable in fact he discovered that the cable is completely worthless.

He discovered that if you just disable 2 wires on the sata power connector to the hard drive you can bypass the sensor all together you can do this 2 ways you can cut 2 wires and join them to each other this leaves the silent hard drive fan on constantly.

or you can use a sata y splitter and just connect it completely bypassing the 6 and 7th wires on the sata cable

no need for the fans throttling. and the system works as usual.

he basically recommended using Macs fan control for high Sierra because thats what this model supports its very interesting.

but do you know why the OWC Cable is junk the sensor thats attached to the cable isn't even hooked up to the cable.

Especially the pins in question. thats why there is a cheaper alternative using a SATA y Splitter thats only 6.00

which isn't nonsense if you don't want to pay 50.00 for a cable.
