I'm brand new to OS X and Macs, so please forgive me if I'm missing something basic, but I'm pretty computer-literate and I'm stumped by something that seems like it should be pretty basic. When trying to view a movie trailer from the Apple site, nothing happens. The screen loads, and I get a backsplash from the movie, but no quicktime video can be seen anywhere. I can't see any links to click to get to the movie. The "how to" tutorial videos on apple.com work fine. I've tried Safari and Chrome, neither are working. What am I missing? I'm on a 27" i5 just purchased today. Thanks in advance!

2011 iMac issue with Quicktime trailers in Safari

Do you have a screenshot? Also you could check if plug-ins are disabled in the safari settings.
Is it just quick time or are flash videos like youtube also affected?
Does "Watch Now" work? It does for me.
However, "Download" (480p, 720p, 1080p) doesn't work. It worked fine a few months ago. Maybe it's an issue with the latest version of Safari or the Mac OS. Firefox 4 doesn't have any issues.

This is what I see. You should have a "View trailers" box but it's not there. Wierd.
Which version of Safari and Mac OS are you using? You can find that info in the Safari menu > About and in the Apple menu > About this Mac.

If you disable Javascript, do you get the message at the top of the page like I do? Re-enable it after.
Did you install the 10.6.7 Update for iMac (early 2011) 1.0? You can check which updates are installed in the Apple menu > System Preferences > Software Updates > Installed Software.
Have you tried with Firefox?
Does restarting the computer help?
Can you try from an other computer on the same network, like another Mac, PC, iPad or iPhone?
I guess you could try calling Apple, you have 90 days phone support. You can also walk into an Apple Store, but it seems like overkill for a webpage display problem.

Turns out that it is all the computers in my network, including iPad and a Windows XP laptop. Must be something with my ISP or, more likely, a router setting, although I have no idea where to begin on that front. Definitely not an issue with the iMac.

Some ideas:
-If your modem and router are separate devices, you can try plugging your modem directly into a computer, bypassing the router.
-Hardware reset the router/modem
-Ask a friend/neighbor using the same ISP if they have the same problem.
