I have an old 23-inch Apple Cinema HD Display that I purchased in 2004. Yeah, it's a bit old!

I'm weighing the purchase of a new 2011 Mac mini and want to know if anyone can report back on the interoperability of this display with any of the new 2011 models over DVI. According to the display's specs, it has a 1920 x 1200 optimum resolution. Looking at the Mac mini specs, I see that via the HDMI port with support, it offers up to 1920 x 1200 resolution.

What will the mini send over to the aforementioned display via the Apple Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter?

Thanks.

no reason why it wouldn't. i use a dell 1920x1200 display and it works fine with both mini-displayport-to-dvi and hdmi-to-dvi. you'll need to buy an adapter or cable if you want mdp-to-dvi as the mini only comes with an hdmi-to-dvi adapter. i use an mdp-to-dvi cable.

Works fine for me on a 2011 2.5ghz mini and a 23 DVI Cinema HD. I actually prefer this monitor as its the last of the matt non-glossy monitors. Will not upgrade it until apple comes out with a matt option on their displays.

Yes I agree, this is a great monitor as I too prefer using a matte screen.

Thanks for the feedback indg and elektrobug.
