HI
Hope to be picking up a 2011 Mac Mini it has a 500G HD which I'm thinking of replacing with a 256G SSD.I'm going to do a straight swap over and was wondering if the existing HD Caddy would take a 7mm SSD or would I have to buy a replacement caddy ?
Thanks for any advice
Regards
Ian

I replaced the HDD in my 2011 Mini a while ago. The HDD was beginning to fail. I simply followed the instructions/videos online and swapped the HDD out for a Crucial SSD. No special caddy was needed...just had to buy the torx screw drivers. Working great...and will be selling it soon as switching over to the 2012 quad core model.

Thanks for the replies
Will source a 256g SSD and install asap.
On another note I hooked the Mini up to a Dell 24 Monitor, within half abhor the screen started to pixelate kind of like coloured snow. Did some research online and most people mention swapping the HDMI cable mine is a bout 12 years old so replaced with a slightly newer one and its been fine till about 20 mins ago when the screen went white had to do a hard restart to get it back.

Ian
