what do you think a 2011 mac mini with Core i7, HD6630m GPU, 8GB RAM, 500 GB HDD (stock hdd) will go for? i've had it since sept 2011. works fine. no issues.

Yesterday, Apple had the following refurbs for reference...

Mac mini - Core i7 2.7 Ghz $679
Mac mini - Core i7 2.7 Ghz - SSD 255GB $889

Some had extra ram and the HD6630m. No way to be positive as these units are now sold so the details are no longer posted. Only Apple refurbished unit currently available is a Lion Server 2.0GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 for $759.

Obviously, no warranty and risks associated with a private buy would have to be considered.

thanks. i went to the apple refurb store for reference as well.

mine has the discrete HD6630M gpu and 2.7 dual-core i7 with 8GB of RAM (mushkin 1333Mhz) that i installed myself.

i was thinking of selling it on craig's list for $600. but wanna make the most of it so $700 if it can sell is a better deal for me.

having sold a lot of minis 700 will be a tough sell for you.

is the machine in warranty?

if you can prove warranty and have papers for the machine buyers pay a little more.

look like you have had it for 14 months and if you did not get applecare the new buyer can't add it..

that makes the value 25 to 50 less. I would say 650 tops since it is out of warranty.

here is one a 2.5 in warranty

600 + 15 to ship he has issues

Especially when you can get a new 2.5 i5/4GB/ 500GB HDD with 1 yr warranty for $600.

Throw in another $35 for 8GB or $70 for 16GB RAM aftermarket and it seems new is the way to go. While the discrete GPU is nice, most buyers probably won't care. I think each of the above eBay sellers are high by $50-75.

I think $600 is very fair with the i7 upgrade and the 8GB RAM ($30-35 value). However remember CL people like to low ball. So you might want to start at $675-700 and settle for around $600-650. But I think somewhere around $600-700 is fair. Higher end if still has AppleCare warranty. Lower if it doesn't.

You will have to match whatever the going prices are in the venue that you sell. If using Ebay, do a search with "completed listings only" displayed, which will tell you what they are selling for. If using Craigslist, you'll have to match whatever asking prices are there.

If you are not in a hurry, you could always try for $700 first for a couple of weeks and then drop it down later if it doesn't sell. Most people seem to be in a hurry though.

I've sold two Minis in the past and I've found that if you still have the original box, discs, manual, Apple stickers, etc., you can easily get $30-$40 more than what others are asking. (So when people throw away their boxes they are throwing away $40.)

thanks all for the reply. i have the end of this month to make a decision.

i was thinking of $600 to begin with anyway, which i'd be happy with. the machine is in perfect condition. never moved it around from where it sat. has no issues. even with dual monitor setup. runs like butter. lol.

it is just that my mid-2010 MBP is almost the same performance as this mac mini. and if i have to sell one, i'd rather sell the mac mini, even though i can probably get more money with the MBP.

i am trying to see if i can afford the hooked up 27" imac. looks like a dream machine for FCP X and Motion X, which are the programs i am using.

basically want a quad-core i7 mac for the foreseeable future.... and discrete gpu of course....

so i will probably put in $650 at CL and then see how it goes from there.

i have the original box. and manuals. maybe even the stickers. i didn't throw that stuff away. only thing is that it is out of apple warranty.

Still Available?

hi there, if your Mac Mini is still available I'd love to buy it.

This is my first post to the forum as I only stumbled across it while googling for a seller of this model. I'm not sure, but it appears that there is no personal messaging in MacRumors?

In any case, let me know if you're interested in selling. I'm happy to pay a fair price plus shipping, and can provide references

Thanks,

Chad
