I have a 2011 mac mini and I've been running a 24" LED cinema display with display port without any problems.

I have decided to sell the LED display and buy 2 matching "older" 23" silver cinema displays, I am running one off hdmi with an hdmi to DVI adapter, that works great, but when I plug my other screen into a displayport to DVI adapter the screen doesn't work.

I know the display port on the mini is working perfect, and the 23" display is working perfect on the hdmi port but not on the display port. The adapter is a cheaper ebay one, not the official apple adapter, could this be the problem ? should I go out and buy the £25 apple one ? As I say I know the display port is working, as I have run the newer 24" LED display off this without any trouble.
