2011 mini GeekBench score dropped after lion update

FYI:

I updated from Lion 10.7.0 to 10.7.1 this afternoon, nothing in my configuration has changed...

I did a quick test and my Geek Bench score dropped from about 8300 to 8200. I will do a few retests but it looks like I lost about 100 points.

Did anyone else see the same results? I know these numbers are synthetic but it's nice to track performance.

Mine's unaffected. Still right up there between 9610 and 9640 which is my mini's 64 bit range.
I did notice however that Lion was claiming 2GB of ram right from start up, with nothing open. (Good thing I have 8)

I have 8 GB too. The severs did get a separate build of 7.1 vs the client setups. That could also be a factor.

I used to range 6040-6080 on Geekbench 32-bit on my 2011 13" 2.3/i5 running 10.6 Snow Leopard. After upgrading to 10.7 Lion, it is nowhere near 6000, the highest has been 5990. I turned it off and back on with no apps running, and still 5990.

Why is that?

I had ran the test at 8GB but now i'm running 16 GB. My scores dropped another 50 points after 10.7.2 but over all performance seems unaffected.

your 2011 mac mini did not get 6040 with snow leopard. if it did you would be the only poster on the entire net with score that high. you could make serious money with a mac mini and those scores running snow. i have done about 20 2011 mac mins they score 5975 to 6050 with lion and 1800 with snow.

sorry I was not clear that I was not trying to be mean when i wrote this. I can see by the minus scores i must have not been clear and came off as a know it all trying to be nasty.

I have not done any macbook pro 13 inch model's the 15 inch model got just about the same scores with snow or lion.

You need not worry about small changes in geek bench scores 5900 6000 or 6100 are not a big deal. If you dropped from 6100 to 5000 it might mean you have a bad upgrade with a corrupt file but a small change like yours is not a big deal. just keep a eye on your scores now and then a look for large drops like 1000 points or more for your machine. one thing to keep in mind is geek bench looks at most all of your machine except for the hdd. so x bench is okay for the hdd score
