2011 Ram Upgrade Question

Hi, just got my 2011 21.5" imac today! i am wondering if when I am upgrading the ram, I can leave the 2x2GB modules that were preinstalled and just simply add the new 2x4GB I just purchased in the bottom slots, will this work or are there any special considerations to take?
