My local Best Buy had an open box 2012 Mac Mini MD387LL/A for $518.99. It had the box and all, but did not have the HDMI-DVI cable in it. I have a thunderbolt to DVI cable already so not a big deal. Is that still a decent price for it? Thanks.

I'd say that's pretty good for a newly released machine. See if you can talk them down to $500 due to the missing cable. ;)

They had another with the cable for $549. I asked and they wouldn't budge from the $519. I wound up going with it without the cable since really I don't need it.

I get 60 days to return it too if I need to since I'm BB RZ Silver status. I'll probably connect it tonight or tomorrow.

Good choice.

They also had a 2011 base Mac Mini for $479, but I figured for the $40 it was worth it to get the 2012 version (faster CPU, faster RAM, better video, and USB3).

On that drive, yes. But there are better deals to be found today. Regardless, you should be satisfied.

I've been too late on all the deals I saw pop up. All the great deals on SSD seem to be sold out.

I love BestBuy open boxes. I bought a 2T Time Capsule for 206.00, Brand new, still wrapped in plastic.

Great buy on that mac mini. I was looking for the same too.
