Has anyone tried to put (2 x 16) DDR3 1600mhz in a late 2012 mini mac? I'm not sure if the pinout on the chips is the same. I have one that runs music software (recording) on 16 megs and it lags sometimes. Just wondering. Thanks.

Those machines max out at 16GB RAM due to a firmware restriction. Apple has expressed no interest in removing it even after being petitioned by its user base (aka shareholders).

Mac mini (Late 2012) Benchmarks

Any tasks that needs 32GB memory, would also benefit from a general system upgrade.
Better save that money towards a new Mini after 10 years.
Thank you, I've done a general "upgrade, with an SSD," just curious about the RAM because there was no such thing as DDR 3 1600 2 x 16 when my mac mini was released.
