2012 Mac Mini RAM Compatibility

I've just ordered a 2.3 i7 MM with 4GB RAM. I'm planning on upping that to 8GB, and was wandering whether I could use the 4GB in a 2011 MM. My Dad got the bog standard one last year which only came with 2GB and was thinking of giving him the spares. He doesn't use very often so there's no point buying some.

very good chance that the ram in the 2012 will work in the 2011. the 2011 mini is very good at acceptance of ram. most likely the 2012 has 1600 speed which the 2011 will downclock to 1333 speed
