Came across this mod of a Mac mini.

Interesting but not cheap.

He sells some of the parts separate on eBay though.

I was more interested in his vented base. But I think it will be too noisy when the fan runs at 100%. Take off the base of the 2012 Mac mini on its side when the CPU and fan is running 100% (say on Handbrake) and there is a noticeable noise difference.

I think it would also suck in too much dust.
 
Although cool and fun to do things I think it's not very practical

1024x768 isn't going to work in the long run. Could have just had the monitor and speakers and the plug it to Mac mini or what ever you want to for the fun of it.
 
This is cool like putting a motorized door on your beer fridge is cool.

It'll impress your geeky friends, but it doesn't actually do much :)

The screen is also flat compared to the old
CRT. Might be a little square peg round hole at the front as it is curved to accommodate the old screen.
