Hate to be a nube but how can I tell if my Mac Mini (late 2012) is a hdd or ssd? I want to beef it up with upgrades. Currently: 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5; 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3; Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB; OS X 10.9.5 (13F1911).
Also not showing any available software updates... what's up with that?
Any help or guidance appreciated.

  1. :apple: -> About This Mac
  2. Change to the Storage tab
  3. Look at the description under the drive image, an SSD will say Flash Storage or Solid State Drive.
or

  1. :apple: -> About This Mac
  2. System Report...
  3. Expand Hardware -> Storage
  4. Click on the Volume Name
  5. Below you'll see a filed called Medium Type.
--EDIT--

As for upgrading past 10.9.5, you might want to check out this thread: https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...d-10-9-5.2168500/?post=29597524#post-29597524
