Any suggestions? It’s a bit bent up so it may not easily go back in when I put the new battery in. Should I leave it out or try to put it back in before the new battery? Thanks! ?

And the metal plate sits between the battery in the touchpad. It’s not necessary to remove it to replace the battery, you’re supposed to leave it but the adhesive did not allow me to leave it so it came out. What I’m asking is, what do I do now. Hoping to find someone who has had the same problem. Thanks :)

Can you post a pictures of this plate? And is this a 2012 Unibody or a 2012 Retina, which has 2 thunderbolt and an HDMI port on it?

Sorry for the delay. I ended up just putting the plate back in, repaired best I could, and everything seems to work fine. It’s probably just an emf plate. Even with it totally removed it didn’t impact the function of the touchpad.
