1. How is general performance?
2. Any way of knowing if Metal runs on the 2012's GPU?
3. I've seen people talk about enabling splitview with Force Touch on the new macs, but how do you enable it with the 2012's trackpad?
Is this a non retina pro?If you have any questions/requests you want me to try out, ask here.
Yes, this isn't the retina. I'm currently on an SSD. The boot up time is longer than Yosemite was, but I expect that from a beta. Safari is actually working nicer than it usually does, which is nice and the new features are nice too.Is this a non retina pro?
If it is, are you running on a HDD?
How are boot up times and apps like safari?

Ok thats good Hopefully they get system boot up times back faster as the betas go on..
Another question….. has the VRAM allocation gone up?
I have 8GB of RAM and it's been using a decent amount (~1,2gb) less for my daily use so far.
I added 11 pins to the left and it doesn't appear to be stopping any time soon (and I can't imagine people having much more than that, it's kinda ridiculous and takes up like 2/5 the bar)
Yes sir. I currently have 4 and it works pretty well. It takes the first letter of the address if it doesn't have a favicon. Thanks for this. I'll probably add ~5 pinned sites.
Also, I've been assuming that you are using a 13" cMBP. Is this correct?

You're quite welcome!Great, thanks for your help!
Also, huge thing I just noticed, you can copy dictionary definitions directly from the three finger tap... you don't need to open the dictionary app to copy it again (stupidest thing of Yosemite)
Samsung 840Evo 250GB.Thanks for doing a Q&A.
What brand/model is the SSD in your system?
Do you have Flash Player and/or Firefox installed on your system? If so, how's their stability and performance?
How are overall animations (ex: file > open) in apps which weren't made by Apple? I've had really choppy animations in Adobe apps on my Yosemite (despite reinstalling it several times).
Metal-capable devices: 1Regarding Metal on systems with Intel HD Graphics 4000: On reddit, a user posted a few lines of code that check for Metal compatibility on the machine it is run on. A user further down the thread with a MacBook Air (with Intel HD Graphics 4000) says that their system is supported. Would you be willing to check this for us? Here's the thread.
Metal-capable devices: 1
- Intel HD Graphics 4000 (low power: yes, headless: yes)
This doesn't mean it's activated, however.
I truly am curious if Metal is activated in this beta.True, it may not be activated, but at least the mid-2012 appears to be supported.
Like this? http://www44.zippyshare.com/i/17hsi8ZS/4554543/Screen Shot 2015-06-09 at 19.01.12.14.pngCan you please post a screenshot of Safari with the menu bar and a drop down menu. I have a mid-2012 MBP and my font rendering is off sometimes (goes blurry and lighter) with HN font. Do you find the SF font to be bolder than HN?

I'm sure your improvement would probably be even more marked than mine. This update is super impressive for how early it is...How about someone with a 2012 retina macbook pro? What are your thoughts on performance?
