Hey everyone. As the title states, I have a mid-2012 MacBook Pro and I have been having an issue where it randomly restarts often. I have replaced the hard drive into an SSD and I have also used the SSD as an external hard drive but have had no luck. The system software is up to date and the laptop works just fine when running with the SSD. Below is the detailed log I received after the latest restart. Any help?

There is a page fault in iokit - mediaanalysisd. I believe this daemon scans your ssd for media files. Page fault occur when you access non-existant or protected memory.

Problems with the disk? It is not clear to me what is not working, you say it works fine with the ssd?

The page faults may be attributed to bad ram or misbehaving apps.

Random restarts are difficult to diagnose. I recommend using the MacBook and making note of programs running and tasks being performed each time the MacBook restarts. You may start to see a pattern.

Next, run the MacBook with a single stick of ram or run memtest to check for possible errors.

Next, I would try a clean install of the OS.

Lastly, I would try a different SSD.
