2013 13" Haswell Retina Macbook Pro Owners

Hello fellow photogs,

I'm interested in buying the 13" Retina Haswell Macbook Pro. If there are any of you that have it already and are using it for photography, I'd be very interested in hearing your experiences and feedback. I'm looking at the 13" 2.6/512/8gb model.

The mid-range and top tier are tremendous performers, especially with Lightroom. I maxed out the 13" to get even more performance, and now this thing is a rocket.

I've done RAW edits while Parallels is running window 7 in the bg, safari is open with dozens of tabs, and half a dozen torrents are downloading. Doesn't break a sweat. The combo of haswell, mavericks, super fast ssd, and gobs of RAM deliver superb performance.

Thank you for your insight. I had a chance to go the the Apple store and play with the 13" 256 8gb. It was awesome playing with it at the scaled resses. I'm almost certain I will be making the purchase this week for the 13". Thanks.

I have the rMBP that was released in 2012 (2.5GHz, 8GB memory) and I have LR5, CS6, Premiere CS6, and After Effects CS6 installed for my photography/time-lapse work. I will say that my unit is a breeze to work on. I will eventually expand my memory to 16GB, but for now, it handles my 5D3 RAW files like a champ. I love the display since the main reason I bought it was for photography. But you shouldn't really run into any issues if you're looking to just use it for your post process machine.

Awesome! I also am shooting with a 5dmk3 in RAW. It's nice to know that even last yrs model can more than handle those files.
