2013 imac hard drive replacement with

ssd ...same size I suppose ..1 tb--anyone had this done by apple recently and how much does it cost.?.at least within a 100$ if possible?

--my option is call apple and go through that excruciating agony of dealing with a cheerful friendly well meaning in most instances newly hired tech looking stuff up and asking several dozen questions..and an hour and half later and migriane --answer will be 300 (maybe)--prefer to get it from you all...quick simple easy no hassle. Thank you

[doublepost=1564674315][/doublepost]Just get any sata HD can be 2,5 or 3,5 inch and any height. replace it and transfer the heat sensor from the old one to the new (Take care NOT to rip the heat sensor from the board when removing the old drive !! )

If you need 1tb of storage space for an older iMac that has USB3, the fastest, easiest, cheapest and safest way to GET that space is to buy an USB3 EXTERNAL SSD, and just plug it in.

It can become the boot drive, too.
VERY EASY to set up and get running that way.

I just did this on my 2013 27". It's not that bad if you follow the guides and have all the right tools. Some parts will be easier if you have an extra set of hands. Watch the guides a few times, take your time and it shouldn't be a problem. If you need help or suggestions, you can send me a message. I would suggest internal over external so you can blow out all the dust that will be inside the iMac.
