2013 iMac with corrupted safari that seems unfixable ...might this be a solution

boot up wipe it clean do a fresh Catalina restore...then do a complete reload from time machine as of a month or so ago thus providing a workable and realiable copy of safari which seems to have some mischief in it, from the last upgrades.--thank you all...
