Any notion on if I can use a 27 iMac as a monitor, like it can be right now? I have 3 thunderbolt but would like 4 27"s on the new Mac Pro. Ideas ?

$2,500.00 for an extra monitor...
In any case it all depend how the two FireGL card are wired. They should be able to drive 3 monitors each if they are in a dual gpu configuration. But if they are in crossfire of sli-like then you may be restricted to 3 monitor and the second gpu is used for processing or opencl...

I already have the iMac and 3 thunderbolts. The iMac would just serve as a 4th instead of selling it for $1000.
