Hi,

Just received my new Mac Pro today 8 core, 16GB Ram, 1TB SSD, D700 with a Dell 30inch U3011 monitor connected to it.

My previous Mac Pro was a 5.1 2010 6 core, 24GB ram and 480SSD, with GTX 680 and Quadro 4000 that worked fine with dual dvi to mini display port adapter with native resolution of 2560x1600.

Now with my current system, I could only get 1600 x 1000 resolution with the dual dvi to mini display port into my thunderbolt connection.

Luckily I had a mini display to display port cable lying around and I am running the native resolution of 2560 x 1600. However, when playing games like Diablo 3 or Starcraft 2, I can only get 1920 x 1080 resolution. I know these games can play at 2560 x 1600. Has anyone encountered this problem?

Do I need to purchase the apple Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter?
