I have a 2013 MBA I am trying to fix. It won't boot and I can't seem to jump it (which I've done to MBPs in the past).

There's no water damage nor accidental drops. When I plug the magsafe into the port it doesn't light up. If I plug the magsafe into my MBP and then into the MBA it will light up (odd, right). I tried unplugging the battery and starting it up as well, but that did nothing.

At this point I am thinking the logic board is bad, but I've never encountered a bad logic board. This computer just stopped working one day randomly.

Does anyone have any tips they can offer to try and repair this thing? I plan on going to an Apple store after the iPhone 7 frenzy dies down and I can commit to a couple hour drive.

Thank you

After posting this I went back to try and get it to boot one more time. The charger now lights up, but it wouldn't boot unless I turned it on it's side. Actually, it didn't even "boot", it woke from being asleep.

I am backing up the hard drive now that I got it to start but something very strange is going on with this computer.

At this point I am not even sure what it is/was. After I got it to boot, I backed up the content and reinstalled el captian.

It's been working fine since then, so time will tell if it happens again.
