Can I put faster memory in my 6 core trash can? I know it works with DDR3 1866 ECC RAM but I wasn't sure if anybody tried DDR3 2133 RAM. Does it have to be ECC? (sorry if this has been asked and answered already)

Do you have four DIMMs ?

Best performance is with four matching (same size/type) DIMMs. (Not a big improvement, but measurable.)

Hi AidenShaw, yeah, I have four DIMMs. Dropped in 32GB the day after I got this trash can. Was thinking of going to 64GB but not sure I have a need yet (heavy FCPX, Motion, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve etc.) and I don't think I want to invest more into this machine. Would've been nice to get faster RAM though. I've only had it since October of last year, I was waiting for an update from Apple but I have lots of work and needed a desktop - my early 2011 15" MBP is just tired.
