It seems Instagram is not letting me live stream with my iPad. Any ideas? How tos? It works on my iPhone 8, iPad supposed to work, right?

Is your iPad fully updated? iPadOS 15.6, latest version of Instagram, etc? Have you tried deleting and reinstalling Instagram?
2014 is either iPad Air 2 (A8X/2GB) or older. If it’s older than the Air 2, then that’s capped at iOS 12 so the Instagram version installed may be an older one that does not support live streaming.
