2014 Retina MBP Yosemite heat issues!?

Is anyone else discovering that their Retina MBP is running a whole lot hotter with the new OS X? My machine is a 2.6GHz, i7 with 16GB of RAM purchased new in April and since yesterday when I upgraded to Yosemite it's started running really, really hot. Before yesterday the computer never had any heat issues even when running multiple high processing applications.

I've even uninstalled Silverlight but watching a Netflix TV show with nothing else open means I now can't have the computer on my lap. Is it just me, should I contact Apple with the issue or are others experiencing the same thing and I could hold out for an update?

Could be a runaway process or something. What does activity monitor say? My computerʻs been running as cool as it did on Mavericks.

I'm on 13" 2014 rMBP and no issues at all as well - very similar temperatures to Mavericks. Check your processes, hopefully that will help.

Nothing going on in activity monitor. I've uninstalled Flash anyway just incase (I hate that I'll probably need to reinstall it at some point I've also done a shut down and reboot.

Thanks for the advice though. I'll keep an eye on it regardless.

A great workaround for not having flash is to download Chrome and use that whenever you need to view flash based content. Good luck with the heat issue. Hopefully a reinstall or future update gets things back to normal for you.

I have the same problem my MBP 15' from 2014,is getting really hot after update.
