I have the force touch trackpad on a 2015 Macbook Pro (naturally...) and I love the Retina screen and the AMAZING speed and accuracy of the touchpad. Combined they are priceless as I use them for hours and hours of fast navigation while doing many hours of research online every day, but now with the newest Retina screen 27" iMac, I'm thinking to try switching to one of those...
The Retina screen (but larger), a full external mechanical keyboard (which I've been hooked on for years)... I am sure everything will be an upgrade- except the mouse/trackpad stuff- that is something I'm not sure about, the one in Best Buy didn't seem to be as good or quite the same in the few minutes I messed with it....
What is the official story on those- are they the same, is one better, is the trackpad that comes with an iMac just as precise or accurate or sensitive as the one that comes on a Macbook Pro? Will there be some loss of accuracy or is there something I can buy or get from somewhere to make up for it? The Retina display and that amazing MBPro trackpad is what got me to learn to use Macs in the first place a few years ago, I'm very concerned about the trackpad issue (if there will be one) as I prepare to switch over to an iMac.
Any comparison by those who are familiar with both would be appreciated. I do not want to use a mouse, I am talking only about the trackpads.
Thanks!
