Hey folks,
I had some issues with High Sierra not waking up from sleep properly after the upgrade from Sierra. While troubleshooting this, I noticed that when the machine was awoken from sleep by lifting the lid, it would be warmed up.
After a clean install of High Sierra, the "wake to a black screen" issue has been seemingly resolved, but the macbook still warms up.
The warmth disappears after opening the lid for a minute or two and the machine seems to be back to a cool temperature again.
I wondered if it was the battery charging, but then why would it suddenly drop in temperature as soon as the lid is opened? Just the palmrest area being open? Sounds like a stretch.
Is this normal? If not, what can I do? I have reset the SMC and NVRAM before performing a clean install of High Sierra. Perhaps do that again?
Any help appreciated, thank you!
