Since I've purchased my 2016 15" MBP refurbished back in May, I have been looking to pair with a monitor for my main desk at home. There seems to be very little in terms of new monitors with USB-C/Thunderbolt3 capability that will work well with TouchBar MBPs.
A little about my uses: I work professionally as an editor but also like to edit photos in my free time. Gaming is not a priority for me right now so I am not too bothered about high refresh rates. As of now, I am basically looking at the LG 32UD99-W, the LG Ultrafine 5k, and the LG 27UD88-W options, and cannot for the life of me decide which has the most pros relative to their cons.
Reading through a lot of threads, most people worry about the scaling issues of the 27UD88-W and the random bugs associated with the Ultrafine 5Ks in terms of random flicker. The 32 seems like a good option, but I worry it's too big for the resolution. Cost is of course a factor as well, but as I will be using this partly for work when I'm not in the office (and plan on keeping it for a while) I don't mind spending a bit more to increase its longevity.
Any one think I'm on the right track here and/or care to offer some more advice? Does anyone know of any new offerings coming down the pipeline that may suit my needs?
