I've got a 2016 13" MBP TB with 8g RAM and 2.9GHz dual-core intel 5.

I just looked at the new 14" MBP, and with RAM and processor upgrades I'm looking at $4 grand.

YIKES! I paid $1,600 for this one 6 years ago. For anyone in the same boat that has upgraded, was it that impressive?

For reference, I run excel, teams, zoom, evernote, powerpoint, and a few other programs.

Thanks!

Why are you upgrading RAM and processor? If your 13" is already doing what you need, a base 14" model will be more than fine.

My 14" MBP cost $2,000. Way more than enough for the programs you mention. It replaced a 2015 MBP, probably 10 times as fast, everything feels snappy. Yes, impressive.
Depends how much this snappiness and a nicer screen is worth to you.
