I have a new 15" MBP (16GB version), and on resume from sleep, various apps crash. Note - macOS does NOT crash, so I don't think this is the same (graphics card related) issue that some other users on here have reported (those also seem limited to the 4GB MBP).

Apps that have crashed are mainly Firefox, Thunderbird and the Mozilla Crash Reporter. Although jEdit (a Java-based text editor) has also crashed.

I have no such problems on my old 2012 15" MBP running the same OS.

Any ideas?

All are from the same company/developer. They may use some kind of shared component that does this. Try downloading a newer beta of these apps. And reinstall Java.

Thanks - have tried this and will let you know how I get on.

No luck. Installed the latest Betas of Firefox and Thunderbird, and updated JDK - still have this issue. Do any other new MBP owners have this problem?

Update on this: my MBP comprehensively died. Apple report that both the storage and the fans have faults on them. There is a long saga, the upshot of which is I'm still awaiting repair/replacement, but I suspect the above issues may not be disconnected from the hardware faults.
