2017 15-inch MBP Battery Issues?

Is there anyone else with a similar battery issue? My battery is starting to run hot and it is burning through charge quickly. I have sat here surfing the web and looking at email for an hour, and it has gone from 100% to 66% battery in that time. It certainly seemed to last longer before.

It is a 2017 15-in MBP. Yes, I have intermittent sticking key issues with the period button. At the moment it is fine, but it will go out again for the 3rd or 4th time. I have taken it up and cleaned it per various tutorials. I know this is a common issue, but I'm wondering if the battery issue is also a common one.

Try activity monitor and look at the energy tab to see if you have a process eating your battery

Great call bone brain, thank you!! My system was 97% using something that indicated it was on the website for Spokeo.

That has now been force-quit, so I will see if things improve and my battery stays cooler
