I am getting an nvme put into my iMac and i was wondering if this would do to disassmble the display, even although the ebay listing mentions 2011 imacs only?

To disassemble the display, all you need is the 'pizza cutter' (or similar device, some guy on Youtube used a guitar pick) to cut the adhesive holding the display on. OWC sells kits good for late 2012 to present so the one you found may not be appropriate. (You'll also need tape to reassemble, Torx screw drivers, cable, heat sensor, bracket.)
