The 27" is $1200 used in mint condition by the pictures I have seen
27-inch iMac 3.8GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 with Retina 5K display 2T hard drive, June 2017.
Barely Used and in perfect like new condition, smoke free home, in the original apple box

27-inch (diagonal) Retina 5K display; 5120-by-2880 resolution with support for one billion colors
8GB of 2400MHz DDR4 memory
2TB Fusion Drive1
FaceTime HD camera
Radeon Pro 580 with 8GB video memory

Or get the $1299 current Imac for $1229 brand new

Will be using it for a personal music studio, browsing, using transcribe software, etc.

Which deal is better do you think

Ok so I have a follow up question, how reliable are these imacs? I have been building computers
since 1980 or so, and if something goes wrong with one of my builds I just replace the part.

I have had macbooks since 2012 and haven't had any problem, I'm hoping these are the same?
Thanks.

iMacs should be fairly reliable, you’re not carrying them around and bumping them into things. Lots of folks have had problems with dust on the screen, which is a challenge to repair, but they should otherwise be pretty foolproof.

Thanks, my concern was heat buildup and the ability to dissipate it in a small area, any tips on check out a used unit as that is probably what I am going to buy, thanks again.
