Hi guys I have a limited budget was trying to get to 1TB SSD but instead i'm comparing these two 27 in one 2017 one 2019 with 512ssd what are pros and cons i am a Youtuber editing on final cut express at the moment upgrading from a 2011 21.5 1TB hybrd iMac 32GB ram

I would use external Samsung T5 for editing and external hdd's for itunes backups, what is the better bang for the buck

the 27 inch base 2017 only be upgraded to 32gb ram??

Can the 27 inch 2019 base ram upgrade to 64GB or 128gb?

I have a 2k budget is it stupid to buy the 2017 not much of a savings

the 27 2017 iMac is $1899 US
the 27 2019 iMac is $2099 US


i would need to still buy final cut pro at 299
and add OMC RAM myself

thoughts?

i would be keeping the old imac until it croaks

Yes 32GB is it for the 21.5" model and I doubt you would want to do it yourself as this involves a complete tear down. Better option would be a 27" model which can take up to 64GB of memory, and is user replaceable via the hatch door on rear.

$200 for a newest model machine, 2 more cores, and a slight bump in GPU. I'd go for the 2019.
